Garlic Butter Baked Scallops
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) sea scallops
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 3-4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
- 1. Preheat Oven
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2. Prepare the Scallops
- Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Make sure to remove the side muscle if still attached.
- 3. Garlic Butter Sauce
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
- 4. Arrange Scallops
- Place the scallops in a baking dish in a single layer, making sure they aren’t too close together.
- 5. Topping
- Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the scallops.
- In a separate bowl, mix the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the scallops.
- 6. Bake
- Bake the scallops in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until they are cooked through and the topping is golden brown. If you want extra crispiness, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- 7. Serve
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
